Construction in January

The construction crews continue to work around the challenges of cold, snow and the Canadian winter. The final group of roof trusses are going up on the student commons. Some interior work is being finished in the academic wing. The natural gas connections are in place. The roof deck and much of the roof is finished now on the trades building. Those sections of the trades building that look unfinished will be covered with wood siding for now, and eventually with masonry work completed the the Heritage Masonry program students.

Cold week for roofing.

Most days were clear and crisp this week, but the roofers looked pretty cold. Earlier today, the crew putting shingles on the roof had leaf blowers out -- blasting the snow off so they could put more shingles down.

Student Commons Trusses Go Up

At the end of this week, the roof trusses which had been assembled on the ground, started to go up over the administrative offices and student commons area (library, cafeteria, student lounge). Now the complete building shape is visible.

Crews worked all week on the trades building, too, getting it ready for roofing.

Holiday Progress

While staff and students of the College were taking an end of semester break, work continued on the new campus, with insulation being added to the walls of the academic wing, shingling taking place on the same wing, and ongoing work on the structure for the trades building.
